All the News: 2014 Recap

Here's a look back at the 2014 year in review.

October - December 2014

The winter brought so many changes, I can hardly recount them all. First, City Owl Press, the new indie publisher in romance and speculative fiction launched! Releasing EMBRACING DARKNESS, the sequel short story in the Key series, and AMAROK'S BITE, a stellar urban fantasy short by Yelena Casale, for FREE. On March 2, 2015, A TOUCH OF DARKNESS will re-release with a brand new cover and editing, but you can pre-order it now here.

City Owl Press will also open for submissions in the Fall/Winter of 2015, so if you're an author looking for an innovative publisher in Adult romance or speculative fiction, bookmark the site and check out the press release here. You can sign up for the newsletter as well to stay up to date on all the latest news.

Looking for Yelena and me in 2015? We'll be heading back to RomCon to give a workshop on Co-Writing, and with the help of Sensei Thomas Casale, a rocking seminar on Utilizing Self Defense in Writing (and Life). Visit us in Colorado this September 2015 and sign-up to be a part of our table for the luncheon, we'll have some cool swag just for you!

July - September 2014

Summer is coming to an end, but the news continues to roll in. The biggest is A TOUCH OF DARKNESS won FIRST PLACE for the Readers Crown Award in Urban Fantasy. Yelena and I are honored and humbled to receive this award. In addition, A TOUCH OF DARKNESS will come off the market temporarily in preparation for a re-release in March 2015. We'll be revealing the new cover later this fall.

EMBRACING DARKNESS, a key series short story, is available now in the LOVE IS... charity anthology. We'll also be releasing it free to our readers later this year.

New series launch next year too! The paranormal romantic suspense, CODE BLACK, will release in a boxed set currently titled MASTERS OF THE HUNT, in Summer 2015. Yelena will be launching her urban fantasy series as well in this set.

April - June 2014

The past three months have been swimming with news. First, Yelena and I attended the RT Booklovers Convention in New Orleans in May and had a wonderful time. To read about some of the panel highlights, click here.

While at the convention, we discovered amazing news, A TOUCH OF DARKNESS has been nominated as a finalist in Urban Fantasy for the Readers Crown Award! So, we're heading to Denver for the RomCon convention June 19-21 where the winners will be announced at the Luncheon on Friday. If you'll be in attendance, come visit us at the Author Signing and Dance of the Decades for books, goodies, and swag. We'll be hosting the 90s and playing fun games while Heather Graham leads karaoke and dancing!

Last, but not least, the KEY series will have a short story releasing this August in the charity anthology from the Romance Divas. Check back here for more news on how to grab your copy and read the story featuring Zoey and Rafe from A TOUCH OF DARKNESS.

March 2014

Are you a reviewer, blogger, librarian, or reader on NetGalley? Good news for you! A TOUCH OF DARKNESS is available for one month on NetGalley. Be sure to grab your review copy before it's gone. Available here.

The NA Contemporary Romance is still in the works. Titles are being sifted and the first draft finish line is in sight. Yelena and I are also gearing up for the Romantic Times Convention in New Orleans this May. We hope to see you there.

February 2014

Exciting news from the publisher for A TOUCH OF DARKNESS. They've agreed to drop the price for the eBook to $2.99!!! So, if you've been waiting, grab your copy from Amazon or B&N today!

Pitch Wars has come to an end and Team Ninja rocked as always. I've been asked to work in the upcoming Nest Pitch competition as well and --hopefully, the NA Contemporary Romance will be finished-- so I can support the newest crop of aspiring writers. I love working with other writers and revel in the chance to play a part in their successes. For more information on Nest Pitch check it out here.

January 2014

The new year begins with a bang as the agent rounds for Pitch Wars rolls around and Team Ninja 2013 heads off to compete. I'm so proud of my team and couldn't be happier to help them polish their pitches, queries, and manuscripts. Wishing them all the best of luck!

As for my projects, it's been a bit of a slow down since the holidays on the new NA Contemporary Romance, but I am hoping to pick it up and have it finished by late March.
