Tales of the Ghost Computer

Blogger: I Love Thee, I Love Thee Not

Let me explain why this is worthy of a Freaky Friday post. No, that'll take too long. Let me sum up. (Name that movie) Here I present to you a handy dandy Pros and Cons chart of my love-hate relationship with blogger.

PRO CON
  • Simple to use
  • Easy to create custom designs
  • Keeps all followed blogs in one place
  • Fun apps and widgets
  • Great community
  • Gets me away from having to use Dreamweaver
  • Technology is temperamental
  • Comments system is in flux (getting better)
  • Followed blogs disappear and reappear
  • Limited capabilities (needs more methods to include larger site)

So, why is this freaky? Well, today I watched as all the blogs I follow disappeared from my dashboard. Poof! Gone.
You're saying okay, so it was a technological glitch. No big deal. WHY is that freaky? Here's the kicker, as I stared at the screening, wondering how in the heck to get back all the blogs I followed something happened...
The ghost computer started to put the blogs back. One by one they appeared in my list once more. I'm not talking about refreshing the page, or logging in and logging out. Nope. One minute the list was blank and I was cursing the computer, and the next second they started to pop into place. I don't know about you, but I've never seen a website with activity like that unless it is flash or a video. Creepy! Makes me want to call these guys...
Have you ever had your computer start behaving freaky? Not in the technological annoying sense, but the oh my gosh there's a ghost in my computer way? Forget the zombie apocalypse. Are you prepared for the robot apocalypse?

  1. Yes to computer acting freaky. With my last computer, every time I would rotate a picture, it would disappear. I mean, disappear - I couldn't find it anywhere!
But I'm also having all kinds of weird things with blogger the way you do, including all the blogs I follow disappear on me and I'll get a message saying "there's no blog that you currently follow"...Um...really? How about the 30-35 that I do follow...lol

    1. Why is Blogger doing this to us? Do you think it's haunted? Should we hire an exorcist. I need an old priest and a young priest. Grrr...

    1. Why does technology do this? Maybe, they're not ghosts, but evil little gremlin nanobots!

Hopped over to your blog, and oh my gosh, you have shamrocks! LOVE IT. :D

  4. My computer is not just haunted, but possessed by demons who have obviously watched too many episodes of "Punk'd." They reside in the keyboard and delight in moving the sentence I'm typing up about four lines, usually putting it right in the middle of a word. *backspace, backspace, backspace* They also highlight entire blocks of text so that a keystroke deletes it. *undo, undo, undo, SAVE* And to add fun to the festivities, I can hit the enter key or space bar and have my browser go back four or five pages with no warning. And the laptop's not even a year old yet. I've since found out this is a normal glitch with this brand (who I won't mention, but their initials are HP) and I should've investigated more before buying it. I'm saving up for a Mac and will just have to be careful I don't delete the 20,000 words I already have in my WIP. *save, save, save*

    1. Demons too? What is it with technology attracting all sorts of evil creatures? *Sigh* Hugs and may you find a demon-hunter (or better laptop) soon!

  7. Computers remind me I have superpowers because every day it takes superhuman strength to not punt my computer across my house! Glad things finally got back in order for you, ghosts or not. (:
