Stylish Blogger Award and 7 Random Facts

When I started this blog, I did so with apprehension. What could I possibly offer the writing community? Would readers be interested in my words? Did I really have advice to give?

In a few short months, all of those worries have disappeared. I've gained so much from interacting with other writers, readers, reviewers and bloggers. It's introduced me to an entire community of gracious and caring people. I am more than thankful to be a part of it.

One of those amazing people - and talented writers - is Anita Grace Howard. Not only has she consistently commented on my blog, encouraging me to continue the pursuit, but she's given me my first blog award!

Stylish Blogger Award

And now, I get to pass on this award to five stylish bloggers! But first the rules of the award...

1. Thank and link to the person(s) who nominated you.
2. Share seven random facts about yourself.
3. Pass the award along to five blogging buddies.
4. Contact those buddies to congratulate them.

Here's my 5 blogging buddies who are more than deserving of this award...

1. Heather McCorkle
2. J. A. Souders
3. Roni Loren
4. Yelena Casale
5. Lisa Gail Green

And now 7 random facts about me...

I Love ZYXNumber 1: I can recite the alphabet backwards. I learned this little trick when I was ten years old for a talent competition. My cousin and I created a rap about it, but we didn't win.

FeetNumber 2: I can't bend my left big toe. I broke it when I was young and didn't know it. It hurt, but I figured - eh, it'll heal. It did and it's straight, but I lost the ability to bend it. Poor big toe.

Number 3: I'm a black belt in traditional Shotokan karate through JSKA. I'm also a certified instructor through Long Island University. Osu!

Big Bird Visits Granny Bird Book Cover
Number 4: I nicknamed my grandmother, Granny Bird, when she read my favorite story, Big Bird Visits Granny Bird, to me as a child. The name stuck twenty years later, although it now has variations of GBird and Bird.

Number 5: I once had a cat named Oreo. My husband (then boyfriend) refused to call him Oreo, however, and named him the notorious C. A. T. instead.

InuYasha Manga CoverNumber 6: I'm a HUGE fan of Japanese anime, but I haven't watched as many in recent years. My all time favorite animes are Fushigi Yuugi, Ayashi no Ceres and Inuyasha.

Number 7: I get my best story ideas in the shower. One day, I'm going to create a waterproof computer and I'll probably never leave the shower again.

I hope you enjoyed those random facts! Please visit the award recipients' blogs and show your support! Thank you for being wonderful readers and letting me be a part of this community.

  1. Very cool facts. My daughter recites the alphabet backwards. I'm pretty sure she's really part alien - my husband's side. :D JUST KIDDING. Anyway... Thanks for including me!! I'm honored.

  2. Thank you so much Tina! I'm totally flattered. :) And wow, you can recite the alphabet backwards?! I'm impressed!

  3. Congrats on the award!!! :D
    LOL about a water-proof computer! ;P

  4. Thanks so much for the award and congrats on receiving it yourself! :)

And the shower is such a great thinking place. They actually do have a waterproof note board you can put on the shower wall to jot down notes. Can't remember where I saw it, but I was so tempted to buy it.
