BOOK REVIEW: The Hunger Games Trilogy

*Disclaimer: I rarely write book reviews, but every so often a story comes along that I can't help raving about. The Hunger Games trilogy is amongst these stories.*

If I added up all the books I've read by word count alone, I would find that not a shred of space remained in my brain. Not one single corner would be empty. So, it is no wonder that I've found myself more than once combing over a book, only to get half way through and realize, I've read the story before. I can't remember all of them.
The Hunger Games Books

Yet, I can say with absolute confidence The Hunger Games, Catching Fire and Mockingjay will never be amongst the books that fade from my memory. They are unforgettable. Katniss' survival instincts, will to protect her life and her loved ones, and infallible perseverance will stay with me forever. I was, am, and forever will be entranced by her story and the larger human issues brought to life by the trilogy. The trio of books is the Animal Farm of this generation. It speaks to the deepest darkest parts of ourselves, forcing us to look in the mirror and wonder, could I do that? Could that be me? Is this what humanity has to look forward to? Have we fallen so far?

If you haven't read these books, stop reading this review, and go pick them up!
